Columbia Climate Imaginations Network (CCIN) is a community of creative people who support and inspire one another to imagine just, resilient, and dynamic climate futures. The goal of the Climate Imaginations Network is to create the time, incentives, and ethos for members of the Columbia community to bring their creativity and intellectual energy for these matters together at a communal table. We emphasize the development of collaborative “research design processes” capable of moving beyond traditional disciplinary demarcation lines. Our values are inspired by the work of fields that are “constitutively about imagining other worlds”: fields like decolonial studies, Indigenous studies, and gender studies. Crucial to all these fields is the insight that Networks like ours must play a community- and trust-building role in order for fulfilling, reciprocal, and sustainable collaborations to be possible.
We offer moral, creative, and financial support to students and others who are building a community around creativity, climate, and imagination.
