DESCRIPTION: In collaboration with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership at Cambridge University, this research examines how the shift to electric vehicles (EVs) could be accelerated, and how this transformation may impact fuel demand. We focus on two areas where we have identified gaps in the existing literature. The first focus is on the impact of fleet purchasers (private and public). The second on the role of dealerships in influencing consumer decisions of whether or not to buy EVs. The output will include an analysis of the various uptake scenarios and impacts on oil demand, recommendations on how bottlenecks to increase uptake can be overcome, and the role that institutional investors concerned with climate change can play.
