The project will analyze the performance of the GISS model with respect to its simulations of inraseasonal variability and tropical cyclone-like vortices, and improve these simulations by diagnosing the mechanisms responsible of the development and maintenance of both elements of the model.
OUTCOMES: Carried out a 20-day hindcast experiment with is being analyzed. The model worked well until lead day 10.
