Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: Epidemiologic and experimental evidence supports the role of moderate to high drinking water arsenic in cardiovascular disease (CVD) but little is known at low-chronic levels through diet and other sources. We will evaluate cardiovascular effects of low-level arsenic exposure in US multi-racial/ethnic adults as well as relevant moderators and mediators of those associations. This study can inform on the role, or lack thereof, of low level arsenic in CVD and contribute to CVD prevention and control in general populations.
