DESCRIPTION: The CWC is researching and assessing the feasibility and preparing cost-benefit studies for the government of India in the state of Jharkhand for several pilot projects surrounding the issues of safe drinking water attainment and storage in rural area. The proposed pilot projects include rain water harvesting, sustainable means of harvesting water stored in coal and stone mine pits, producing solar-based drinking water and the overall feasibility and sustainability of providing safe drinking water to the majority of rural populations.
OUTCOMES: Research the feasibility of cost effective sustainable technology for rain water harvesting; research the feasibility of cost effective and sustainable means of harnessing water stored in coal and stone mine pits; research the feasibility of cost effective technology to provide safe drinking water on a sustainable basis to majority of rural population; research the feasibility of providing cost effective and sustainable solar-based drinking water supply
