Southern Ocean ; Patagonia
Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: The project will compare changes in the burial flux of organic carbon and biogenic opal as proxies for past changes in biological productivity to test the sensitivity of biological productivity to the variable supply of dust provided by Patagonia.

OUTCOMES: The team has concluded that the actual sensitivity of biological productivity is sensitive to dust from Patagonia.
