Unit Affiliation: Center for Research on Environmental Decisions (CRED)
DESCRIPTION: The project will develop the content and theoretical structure of a virtual simulation experiment (a “serious game”) that answers both theoretical and practical questions about how people make debris-flow evacuation decisions.
OUTCOMES: 2012-2014: The outcomes of this project will include a better understanding of risk perceptions and preparedness related to debris-flows, and the generation of a virtual simulation to further study this.
