Quantification of Trichodesmium spp. vertical and horizontal abundance patterns and nitrogen fixation in the western North Atlantic

Lead PI: Sonya Dyhrman

Unit Affiliation: Biology and Paleo Environment, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO)

January 2013 - September 2013
Inactive
Global ; Palisades, NY ; Woods Hole, MA
Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: This project is a continuation of Dyhrman's work at WHOI. It involves research into the distribution of Trichodesmium with depth and their role in nitrogen fixation. Work is being done to verify whether or not they are more uniform with depth and if the deeper ones fix nitrogen.
