DESCRIPTION: The team will relate infrared quantified turbulence to subsurface scales of turbulence to remotely determine flow rate, subsurface turbulence, and bed stress. Also, The team will determine the dependence of SST variability and coherent structures on the net heat flux and free-surface turbulence from environmental forcings as well as uncovering limitations to this method. Thirdly, breaking crest length of waves will be used as a function of scale in riverine systems for conditions of wind with and against the tidal current.
