Lead PI: Dr. Michael S. Steckler, Scott Nooner , Mr. Leonardo Seeber

Unit Affiliation: Marine and Polar Geophysics, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO)

February 2012 - February 2017
Inactive
Asia ; India
Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: The project will use GPS stations to monitor seasonal land motion due to water loading, GRACE gravity field measurements to estimate water storage, and data from river gages and groundwater wells collected by the Bangladesh Water Development Board to determine water loads and the elastic properties of Earth.

OUTCOMES: The team has tracked land deformation, gravitational field changes, and water flows. These measurements have resulted in two publications to date.
