DESCRIPTION: The aim of this NASA funded work is to support the deployment of the Research Scanning Polarimeter in the CAMP2Ex airborne field campaign is the Phillipines in September 2019. For this improved data processing and file formats are implemented and new data processing techniques are developed. A statistical evaluation of the aerosol and cloud data assembled during the mission will be conducted.
OUTCOMES: Improved data processing and file formats are implemented and more are being developed. A technique to infer cloud droplet sizes on sides of clouds has been developed and tested on realistic simulated measurements. An analysis of the influence of thin cirrus clouds above the airplane on the RSP products was conducted using past campaign data.
