Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: The project will use measurements from satellites, ship based orbs, drifting surface buoys and profilers, mooring instrumentation arrays, gliders as well as making theoretical and numeric model simulations to investigate what controls upper ocean salinity.

OUTCOMES: Developed a time series for sea surface salinity (SSS) for tropical regimes, determined the role of eddy stirring in compensating net evaporation, and began linking Aquarius data to it all.
