DESCRIPTION: The project will experiment with different modifications to the NOAA GFDL model physics to identify those that best simulate the MJO and then use that physics set to isolate the mechanisms of the MJO in the model.

OUTCOMES: Examined sensitivity of NOAA GFDL climate models’ simulations of the Madden-Julian oscillation to convective parameterization.
