DESCRIPTION: This project undertakes a research program to elucidate the basic mechanisms underlying a moisture swing sorption for capturing carbon dioxide from a very dilute stream such as ambient air. Moisture swing sorbents bind carbon dioxide when dry and release it again when wet.

OUTCOMES: We have successfully developed instrumentation to characterize the complex thermodynamic properties of sorbents of this novel class.
