Water Risk and Sustainability: Managing Water Risks through the Supply Chain

DESCRIPTION: Researchers will combine their expertise in sustainable engineering, development and management of water resources with the manufacturing and operational expertise of PepsiCo, Inc.

OUTCOMES: The work will combine the expertise of the CWC in seasonal climate forecasts, risk management and development and management of water resources with the manufacturing and operational expertise of PepsiCo to design a climate platform that delivers greater certainty for future climate events in PepsiCo’s global sourcing regions and agro raw materials that will eventually lead to developing it as a business tool to manage supply risk and optimize security of supply. Develop and introduce the models to USA in a main potato/corn production areas with a focus on forecasting/informing clmate extremes similar to the 2012 impact.
