Conflict Management through Collaborative Governance in Amarakaeri Communal Reserve, Peru

DESCRIPTION: The project designed an intervention aimed at building both conflict management capacity and natural resource management capacity in the Amarakaeri Communal reserve, given escalating conflicts in the area and the expiration of the previous Master Plan. It focused on collaborative stakeholder engagement and capacity-building to navigate conflict resolution mechanisms.

OUTCOMES: The project created a new Master Plan for the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve to move forward with collaborative conflict management, as well as lessons learned for developmental project evaluation. Capacity-building for indigenous forest managers; Design of Conflict-sensitive management plan; Enhanced stakeholder capacity for technical forest monitoring; Enhanced capacity for stakeholder conflict management and mitigation. Training materials on indigenous legislation in 4 indigenous languages; Datasets on conflict drivers; Training manuals for public functionaries; Developmental Evaluation Methodology
