DESCRIPTION: This training program addresses the needs of disaster victims through state, Tribal, and territorial housing programs and pandemic planning for mass sheltering. Particular emphasis will be given to new initiatives related to the 2018 Disaster Recovery Reform Act, such as the formation of Disaster Housing Task Forces. By the end of the training, learners will be able to describe how FEMA can provide grants to state, Tribal and territorial governments to directly administer temporary and permanent housing construction. Learners will also be able to identify planning best practices for housing socially vulnerable populations, including children, the elderly, and those with special needs.
