DESCRIPTION:
The Barilla Center for Food and Nutrition Foundation and SDSN Association are planning to enter into an agreement to renew and extend support for a project on Fixing the Business of Food, extending it into a second phase. This second phase will focus on operationalizing the Four Pillar Framework articulated in phase one, and ultimately enabling and accelerating the shifts in policy and practice needed to increase SDG alignment in the food sector.
All work will be carried out by SDSN in partnership with the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) of The Earth Institute, Columbia University and Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment (CCSI) at Columbia University as a primary research partner and the University of Siena, Italy. The project will also engage interested companies participating in the project to work with the FABLE Consortium, which supports countries in designing and implementing long-term pathways towards sustainable land-use and food systems. Lessons from the FABLE work for company level metrics and benchmarks will be used to inform the technical and outreach work of the project.
CSD and CCSI will both be responsible for conducting research and analysis to support the project’s overall purposes, and to conduct other activities as mutually agreed, as the project progresses.
