DESCRIPTION:
The Subseasonal Experiment (SubX) is a NOAA/Climate Testbed project focused on subseasonal predictability and predictions. Seven global models are producing seventeen years of ensemble real-time and hindcasts initialized weekly to investigate subseasonal prediction and predictability.
IRI will continue to upload real-time forecasts and hindcasts from the SubX into the IRI Data Library (Blumenthal et al. 2014) in a timely fashion. IRI will ensure that the forecast and hindcast data is accessible to the community via the data library. IRI will continue to catalog data usage statistics.
In addition, IRI will begin the process of converting SubX data archived in the IRI Data Library to a cloud-friendly format and uploading it to the cloud, beginning with a subset of the reforecast data. Cloud storage is being provided free of charge by Amazon.
