DESCRIPTION: The primary aim of this subcontract is to provide high-quality processed lowered ADCP (LADCP) measurements of all three velocity components on the cruises of the 2021-2026 phase of the US GO-SHIP Repeat Hydrography program. Thurnherr will have overall responsibility for acquisition, processing and QC of the LADCP data, for maintenance of the LDEO GO-SHIP instrument pool as well as the required processing software, as well as for pre-cruise training of the student volunteer watch standers. Liljegren will assist Thurnherr in these tasks, in particular with regards to equipment maintenance and shipping, and cruise logistics. Except when experienced ship personnel is available, Liljegren will travel to meet the vessels in their starting ports to take charge of installation of the LADCP system on the CTD rosette.
