Collaborative Research: Testing Source vs. Crustal Processing in High-Mg# Arc Magmas by Os-O-He-Olivine Systematics

Lead PI: Dr. Susanne M. Straub

Unit Affiliation: Geochemistry, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO)

Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: The project will focus on olivine minerals that crystallizes first when magmas cools and start to solidify. Thus, the olivine contain information about the earliest processes that affect melt evolution, which we will investigate through a combination of helium, oxygen and osmium isotopes.
