Unit Affiliation: Geochemistry, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO)
DESCRIPTION: The project will conduct a rigorous survey of the distribution of dissolved Nd isotopes and concentrations in the US GEOTRACES N. Atlantic section in order to: 1) identify regions of Nd isotope anomalies; 2) compare Nd isotopes with particulates to assess the potential for Nd addition/exchange to water masses; 3) compare isotopes in aerosols, particulate, and seawater samples to test for provenance; and 4) compare REE patterns and isotopes around the African low oxygen zone.
OUTCOMES: Presented results in the form of a poster. Results matched expectations well in distinguishing water masses and seeing the impacts of Saharan dust.
