DESCRIPTION: In order to resolve what is happening with the Calabria subduction zone in the Mediterranean Sea the team will use a number of modern analysis techniques to refine the observations of horizontal and vertical motions back through time and by linking these to geodynamic models of upper mantle, lithospheric, and crustal deformation. This will be done using Quaternary dating and geodynamic modeling.
OUTCOMES: Significant results have been released in the form of 8 papers, 14 abstracts, and two complete Ph.D. theses.
