DESCRIPTION: Using seismic data with Atlantic-crossing paths the team will attempt to develop a whole-basin Atlantic seismic model. Data will be collected from global and regional broadband networks to measure frequency-dependent phase and amplitude of fundamental and higher mode surface waves using the generalized seismological data functional methodology. Elastic and inelastic models will also be determined rom inversion of phase and amplitude anomalies.
OUTCOMES: A data set of many hundred paths has been collected, measured frequency dependent phase delays, and implemented a systematic process to correct observations for bathymetry.
