DESCRIPTION: This project supports NOAA's educational mission to advance environmental literacy and to encourage stewardship and informed decision-making. The project will provide educational resources to educators nationally and workshops in the northeast part of the U.S. The partnership will leverage the reach of the National Earth Science Teachers Association, the premier earth science professional organization for educators. It includes components that have proven records of success and will expand the reach of NOAA's education programs and products. The funding will support an open-access sponsored issue of the Earth Scientist, highlighting NOAA's stewardship projects and three Earth2Class workshop featuring NOAA-funded researchers at campuses of Columbia University.
