DESCRIPTION: This is for a program of research that extends the field validity of the Description-Experience Gap effect seen in the lab, in order to better understand the ways that people use their personal experience—either in concert with, or to the exclusion of, statistical or descriptive information—when making decisions about an uncertain environment.

OUTCOMES: 2012-2014: Outcomes include better understanding of how the description-experience gap applies to disaster preparedness and communications.
