DESCRIPTION: The goal of the project is to determine why climate models are predicting a wettening of East Africa while the region has been drying over the past decade. This will be accomplished using observational datasets, climate simulations and identifying dynamical and thermaldynamical processes in the models associated with changes in "long rains" precipitation in East Africa.
