DESCRIPTION: The proposal will examine if seismic waves generated from landslides contain enough information to infer the dynamics of the landslide. The project will use inversion methods to generate time series called a Landslide Force History and combine it with post-slide satellite images.
OUTCOMES: Demonstrated a near real-time capacity to detect the location of large landslides and discovered that landslide dynamics are principally determined by the length scale of the source mass.
