Acoustic Logs Reprocessing and Petrophysical Characterization of Shelf Sands, Canterbury Basin, IODP Expedition 317

Lead PI: Dr. Gilles Guérin

Unit Affiliation: Marine and Polar Geophysics, Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory (LDEO)

November 2010 - November 2012
Inactive
Oceania
Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: Cores taken from the Canterbury Basin were not completely logged so the project proposes to finish recording the logs and then study the exact nature of the sands and the consolidation or pore filling processes responsible for the high velocity and attenuation observed.
