Project Type: Research

DESCRIPTION: To fine tune the agronomic and fertilizer practices in order to show how to further increase maize yields in biophysically diverse sites of Africa. The goals will be to identify the nutrients (and other factors) limiting crop yields, determine the yield potential and gap, and target fertilizer recommendations for reaching beyond the initial 3 ton per hectare goal while also increasing nitrogen use efficiency.

OUTCOMES: Develop area-specific fertilizer recommendations in Africa through identifying limiting nutrients and soil constraints to crop production.
