DESCRIPTION: This was a 3-year project led by the University of Pavia, Italy with funding from the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) initiative. The project developed a Global Exposure Database (GED) for use in conjunction with other elements of the GEM initiative to assess and manage the risks associated with earthquakes around the world. CIESIN coordinated the development of the underlying data model and supported population data needs of the project.
