DESCRIPTION: The aim of this NASA funded work is to develop and evaluate a method to obtain new information about ice cloud optical properties related to ice crystal shapes from satellite and aircraft measurements.

OUTCOMES: A method to obtain information on cloud ice crystal shapes and optical properties was developed and evaluated using simulated airborne and satellite measurements.
