DESCRIPTION: This proposal aims at strategies to ameliorate the adverse health effects associated with undue exposure to arsenic (As) from drinking water, soil and food (rice), an issue that affects millions of people in the United States and around the world. In addition, it seeks to develop mitigation strategies to facilitate the cleanup of contaminated Superfund sites and protect currently safe aquifers from As contamination.
