Founding Dean's Office The Dean’s office is responsible for guiding the overall goals and mission of the Columbia Climate School, developing and executing short and long term priorities. The Deans oversee strategic academic and organizational planning and guide the research, education, and fourth purpose activities at the highest level. The Deans and Dean’s office serve as a key conduit to the rest of the university, developing and maintaining key relationships across schools and departments. Strategy & Leadership We support the Founding Dean and Co-Founding Deans in developing and executing the School’s strategy and advancing new institutional structures and policies as the design of the School evolves. We also provide data-driven analysis and recommendations to the Deans on a wide variety of operational and strategic issues. We are thought-partners to senior staff across the School and within the University, supporting problem-solving and idea generation. Internal Communications We manage internal communications, in partnership with the Communications and Administration team, including email announcements, School-wide newsletters, and town-halls and other School-wide events. Special Projects We lead and staff special projects, in particular those that are cross-departmental and/or high-profile, such as COP planning and a Signature Speaker Series. Dean Communications Working closely with the Communications team, we support the Founding Dean in his internal and external communications, including speaking engagements, Board presentations, interviews, traditional and social media.
