BIOGRAPHY:
Dan Mathis is a legal professional, urbanist, and scholar committed to creating and preserving social and economic equity in cities. His work explores the nexus of housing and climate change with a particular focus on climate adaptation policies and sustainability efforts. Mathis is currently the Senior Policy Advisor for Housing and Sustainability at New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Prior to his work in city government, he was a Policy Fellow with Next100, an initiative of The Century Foundation; he also helped to establish the Center for Racial Equity at the Florida Housing Coalition. He is a graduate of Florida A&M University, the Hough Graduate School of Business at the University of Florida, and the University of Michigan Law School.
