Gerald Cotiangco

Pronouns: they/them

Associate Director, Career Management, Academic Affairs, Columbia Climate School

BIOGRAPHY:

Gerald has spent eight years building academic-industry partnerships for Columbia University, first for the Engineering School and then the newly launched Climate School. Gerald provides individualized coaching and school-wide programming for students and alumni to help them discover, create, and navigate career opportunities.

Gerald has a master's in Adult Learning & Leadership from Teachers College with a focus on radical learning—that is, helping people realize their individual and collective power to build a more free, just, and social-democratic society. When it comes to the climate crisis (read: governance crisis), we all have a role to play and a responsibility to play it.

Gerald briefly left Columbia in early 2024 to join the Cornell Climate Jobs Institute to learn about growing worker power. Workers, after all, are literally in a position to disrupt business as usual.
