Hongying Li

BIOGRAPHY:

Hongying Li joins the Columbia Climate School with an interdisciplinary background in conservation, public health, and social sciences. Over the past decade, she has collaborated with local community, academic, governmental, and intergovernmental stakeholders in Asia and Africa to address the complex conservation and health challenges stemming from anthropogenic environmental changes.

Working as the Senior Program Manager of Interdisciplinary Engagement, Hongying is dedicated to fostering and facilitating collaborations across disciplines and sectors, aiming to bridge knowledge, practices, and policies and develop innovative solutions for the interconnected challenges facing humans, animals, and the planet we all live within.

Hongying holds a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, a master’s degree in public health, and a Ph.D. in science, social care, and education. Her technical expertise focuses on designing transdisciplinary approaches to strengthen community resilience and address public health and environmental challenges, particularly in the context of human-wildlife interactions within a changing environment.
