BIOGRAPHY:

Kaitlyn Bretz is an adjunct faculty member and senior visual analytics specialist at the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), a nonprofit dedicated to decarbonization. She has experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and data visualization software in support of data collection, analysis, and communication of environmental data. She has experience working with the NASA DEVELOP program as a remote sensing specialist and team lead and as a GIS analyst and cartographer for the federal government. Kaitlyn graduated from Columbia University’s Climate & Society program in 2022 and remains involved by advising current students during their summer capstone projects.

Within CSE, Kaitlyn manages a team of data visualization experts and supports a multitude of programs involved with electric vehicle (EV) incentives, EV infrastructure, distributed energy resources, equity and community outreach, and climate-related policy development. She is committed to hands-on learning and helping students explore the creative side of quantitative research and scientific communication.
