BIOGRAPHY:
Lisa Phillips leads the institutional partnerships team at Columbia Climate School. She is developing an institutional engagement and fundraising strategy as well as overseeing strategic partnerships with Columbia University and external stakeholders. She joined the Climate School from RMI where she was the Director of Development. With projects in the United States, India, China, and the Global South, her work at RMI focused on reducing fossil fuel emissions and increasing the uptake of renewable, low-carbon energy sources to mitigate the effects of climate change and limit future warming to 1.5°C. Previously she spent 8 years at Columbia University, working as Executive Director of the Lenfest Center for Sustainable Energy at the Earth Institute where she led program strategy, operations, and development for innovative research projects focusing on sustainable energy technologies and carbon management. This was followed by a year at Mailman School of Public Health, where she facilitated partnerships related to the intersection of climate change and public health.
Lisa is a champion for the Columbia Climate School's DEIA initiatives internally and externally, with an emphasis on giving voice to underrepresented groups through partnerships and collaborations focused on environmental and climate justice.
