Postdoctoral Research Scholar , Center for Science and Society,

I am a Postdoctoral Research Scholar and the Assistant Director of Curriculum Development in the Center for Science and Society. As a cultural anthropologist and STS researcher, I investigate data collection and surveillance in higher education in the U.S., focusing on technologies such as predictive analytics, learning management systems, and other student information systems and classroom technologies. My current work, supported by the National Science Foundation, is animated by questions about subjectivity and marginality among students in changing regimes of data collection in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. At Columbia, my pedagogical work includes developing an STS curriculum in the form of an undergraduate minor and teaching and supporting interdisciplinary co-taught courses.
