BIOGRAPHY:

Miriam Nielsen is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. She is interested in how severe hazards will change under warming and the vulnerability of people and ecosystems to these changes. Miriam also creates online educational videos about climate change and environmental advocacy. She completed her PhD at NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies and Columbia University, working with Dr. Kate Marvel and Dr. Ben Cook on soil moisture and precipitation interactions in a warming world.
