BIOGRAPHY:

Narayan Subramanian teaches a seminar on "Industrial Policy and the Clean Energy Transition." He served as a political appointee in the Biden administration for four years at the Department of Energy (as a lawyer and an advisor to the Secretary of Energy) and the White House (as the Director for Energy Transition within the National Security Council), advancing the implementation of landmark clean energy policies, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. Narayan played a key part in developing and executing strategies to scale up domestic clean energy manufacturing and supply chains, strengthen energy security, and accelerate the deployment of clean energy infrastructure across the U.S. He also engaged in international energy diplomacy, working with key allies and partners to strengthen global clean energy supply chains and align trade and investment strategies.
