Tanisha Oliver

BIOGRAPHY:

Tanisha Oliver is the Associate Dean of Human Resources for the Columbia
Climate School. Her former role as Deputy Executive Director of Budget, Operations and
Strategic Project Management in the Office of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Learning
afforded her the opportunity to lead the hiring, payroll processing, and timekeeping efforts for
over 400 Universal Literacy Coaches, 6 project managers, and 8 Instructional Specialists within
a year and a half time span. She previously worked at Newark Public Schools where she was
charged with managing the Special Education Medicaid Initiative (SEMI) which produced over
$1M in revenue for the district on a yearly basis. She simultaneously handled payroll for over
200 Special Education staff members, ensured that all service providers were up to date with
their certifications, trained staff on all aspects of SEMI and supported the Intervention and
Referral Services (IR&S) program. Tanisha received her undergraduate degree in Sociology
from New Jersey City University and a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University. She is a
licensed Social Worker who takes pride in seeing the positive in all situations.
