BIOGRAPHY:
Thalia Balkaran is a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the National Center for Disaster Preparedness. Her focus is on adapting the Resilient Children/ Resilient Communities Initiative to the Small Islands Context in the Caribbean. Her area of expertise includes small islands, disaster risk reduction, vulnerability, resilience, and sustainability. Thalia holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Management from The University of the West Indies.
