BIOGRAPHY:

Yuan-Jen studies large-scale climate dynamics, with a focus on the interactions between clouds, radiation, and the ocean. Her research interests include (1) climate feedback and sensitivity (2) interactions between ocean, clouds, and radiation (3) ocean circulation under climate change.

Before joining Columbia University, Yuan-Jen received her Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from National Taiwan University in 2022, advised by Dr. Yen-Ting Hwang. Her Ph.D. work focused on the time-evolving climate responses to greenhouse gas emissions, including changes in the ocean, temperature patterns, and radiative feedback. Currently, as a postdoctoral research scientist at Columbia University/NASA GISS, Yuan-Jen is dedicated to exploring cloud controlling factors and cloud feedback through observation and model simulations. Her objective is to advance our understanding of the processes that mediate cloud responses under climate change.
